know the Artist
I started creating art as a child, by drawing elaborate gowns and goofy animals. As I got older I found other ways of expressing myself, through dance, singing and photography. In college, I started painting and also found a love for interior design. These studies helped shaped my way of thinking and gave me a better understanding of my own talents and capabilities. Over the last decade I have sold about 100 original paintings through ecommerce and local clients wanting custom pieces.
I recently took a big leap and moved across the country, from Colorado to Maine, with my husband and our dog Sweetpea. Now that I am in New England, my story has found a new beginning and I look forward to every moment.
A glimpse of some previous projects
Here are some examples of my custom works of Art. I have found so much joy in collaborating with these clients on ideas. They all began with detailed note taking, then research and references. Really understanding the client and their needs is a huge part of who I am. All of these details really helped bring the concepts to life. I am delighted every time a client’s wishes come true.
This was commissioned by an online client as a wedding gift for her husband. Such a sweet project to be a part of. I loved incorporating the written word into these paintings. Made on little canvases, with acrylics, oil pen, twine and fabric glue.
These little beauties were commissioned by a dear friend for her wedding. I took so much joy in creating the Art Nouveau - woodland style. Art Nouveau stole my heart in design school, so it was wonderful to honor the movements and patterns found in this era. The creation of these allowed me to immerse myself in this magical place. I also designed my own font, hand drawn using stencils. Every sign was unique in their own special way. I even had the pleasure of being a guest at the wedding, so seeing them displayed on the tables was quite a treat. These were hand painted with acrylic paint and oil paint pens on wood.
These were commissioned by a client I met on social media. She had requested some custom pieces to add to a gift basket she was creating. A sweet and fun collaboration. These were painted in acrylics on wood.
This spectacular piece is 6x8 feet. The largest painting I have done to date. The inspiration behind this visual wonder was providing a serene setting for my father in his last days. He was able to enjoy this in his room for his last four months. When this was gifted to him, his eyes lit up like a child’s on Christmas Day. This brought me an unmeasurable amount of joy. A labor of love and a job well done. This painting, called “Home”, was painted in acrylics on a raw 6ft x 8ft rolled canvas. My clever husband figured out a quick way to install it by stapling the canvas to the wall and then built a wooden frame for the perimeter. It presented as a lovely mural that filled the room with peace and comfort.
This was commissioned as a gift for some dear friends. I gathered the details of what this client requested and enjoyed the experience of painting these beautiful flowers. Such a timeless color pallet; this painting was done on canvas with acrylics.
A custom hand painted corn hole set as a surprise gift for my stepdad. I wanted to replicate the traditional Maine flag as best as I could. I also matched the paint colors to the beans bags so everything would have a cohesive look. He loves them and that is the best part. This was painted in acrylics, using hand drawn stencils and an outdoor finishing spray to be sure it held up to the elements.
What we have here is a magical custom painting, commissioned by one of my cousins, as a wedding gift for her new husband. A full collaboration of the minds took place here. The client requested that this be presented as a scroll, conveying the story of this beautiful couple. Quite a bit of research went into this piece, including: visual elements from the Viking and Celtic cultures, astrological characteristics, various aspects of folk art and specific plants and trees that highlight the happy couple. This was done in acrylics and oil pens, on a hanging canvas.
